Plant Details:

Collapsible content

Mature height

A vigorous, vining plant with trailing or climbing stems that can easily reach lengths of 6–10 feet or more.

Mature width

The central plant is compact, while its vines will quickly fill a trellis or create a full, cascading hanging basket.

Spacing

Ideal for a hanging basket or a pot with a trellis where its vining nature can be showcased.

Evergreen/Deciduous

Evergreen

Foliage

Features beautiful, elliptical, waxy leaves with a prominent, dark green network of veins. The leaves may also develop random silver speckles. When exposed to direct sun, the foliage can 'sun stress' to beautiful shades of red and purple.

Flowering Period & Fruit

Once mature, it produces clusters of reflexed, creamy-yellow or greenish-white, star-shaped flowers with a pleasant, citrus-like fragrance.

Sun Tolerance

Prefers very bright, indirect light. To achieve the red and purple 'sun stressed' colors, gradually acclimate it to receive several hours of direct morning or late afternoon sun.

Maintenance

Easy. A drought-tolerant plant that thrives on neglect. Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. It flowers best when kept pot-bound. Do not remove old flower spurs (peduncles).

Root System

An epiphytic root system that requires a very chunky, airy, and fast-draining potting mix to prevent rot.
