Forms a very full and dense curtain of foliage in a hanging basket, about 1–1.5 feet wide.

Features beautiful, almond-shaped leaves with a distinctive, soft, velvety texture. The leaves are typically a deep olive green, but in bright light, they can develop a stunning reddish or deep maroon blush.

Flowering Period & Fruit

A reliable and frequent bloomer, producing ball-shaped clusters of small, fuzzy, reddish-pink flowers with a yellow center. The blooms have a sweet, caramel-like fragrance.

Sun Tolerance

Requires bright, indirect light. To achieve the reddish blush and encourage prolific blooming, provide several hours of direct sun.

Maintenance

Easy. A drought-tolerant plant that thrives on neglect. Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. It flowers best when kept pot-bound. Do not remove old flower spurs (peduncles).

Root System

An epiphytic root system that requires a very chunky, airy, and fast-draining potting mix to prevent rot.
