Hoya 'Black Margin'

A fast-growing but delicate vine with trailing stems that can reach lengths of 4–6 feet.

Forms a full but airy curtain of foliage in a hanging basket, about 1–1.5 feet wide.

Ideal for a hanging basket where its trailing habit and frequent flowers can be enjoyed.

Evergreen

Features small, slender, diamond-shaped leaves in a bright green, often with a few silver flecks. When exposed to bright light ('sun stressed'), the edges of the leaves develop a dark reddish-brown to nearly black margin.

An exceptionally prolific bloomer, producing small, ball-shaped clusters of fuzzy, pale pink flowers with a reddish center. The blooms have a delightful, sweet fragrance like caramel or butterscotch.

Requires very bright, indirect light. To achieve the signature dark margins and encourage prolific blooming, it needs several hours of direct sun.

Easy. A drought-tolerant plant that thrives on neglect. Water thoroughly only when the soil is completely dry. It flowers best when kept pot-bound. Do not remove old flower spurs (peduncles).

An epiphytic root system that requires a very chunky, airy, and fast-draining potting mix to prevent rot.
