Foliage
Features beautiful, ovate, deep green leaves. The entire leaf surface is intricately patterned with a dense network of fine, sharply defined, silvery-white veins, creating a stunning mosaic or 'nerve' pattern.
Flowering Period & Fruit
May produce small, inconspicuous flower spikes, but it is grown almost exclusively for its spectacular, veined foliage.
Sun Tolerance
Prefers medium to bright, indirect light. Must be kept out of any direct sunlight, which will quickly scorch its delicate leaves

Moderate to High. This plant demands consistently high humidity and is an excellent choice for a terrarium. Keep the soil consistently moist. The Fittonia will dramatically wilt or 'faint' when thirsty but usually perks up quickly after watering.
Root System
A shallow, fine, fibrous root system that is sensitive to drying out. Prefers a rich, peaty, and well-draining potting mix that retains moisture.
