Sun Tolerance
Requires a very bright spot with plenty of consistent, indirect sunlight. A location directly in front of an east-facing window is often ideal. It will not tolerate low light.
Maintenance
Moderate to High. This plant is famously sensitive to change. Water thoroughly only when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry, and allow the pot to drain completely. It is very prone to root rot from overwatering.
Root System
A robust but sensitive root system that requires a well-draining, chunky potting mix and is very susceptible to root rot.
