Fern 'Blue Star'

Grows to a full, arching height of 2–3 feet indoors.

Forms a spreading clump approximately 2–3 feet wide.

Best as a standalone statement plant in a pot or hanging basket where its unique fronds and creeping rhizomes can be appreciated.

Evergreen

Features magnificent, arching fronds of a distinctive powdery blue-green color. The fronds are deeply and irregularly lobed, and they grow from thick, fuzzy, golden-brown rhizomes that creep along the soil surface

Like all ferns, this plant does not produce flowers. It reproduces via spores, which appear as large, rust-colored dots on the undersides of the fronds.

Prefers bright, indirect light. The blue-green color will be most pronounced with adequate brightness. Keep out of direct sun to prevent leaf scorch.

Easy. One of the more forgiving indoor ferns. Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry. It is more tolerant of lower humidity than many ferns but appreciates occasional misting. Do not bury the fuzzy rhizomes.

Grows from a thick, surface-creeping rhizome. Requires a very airy and fast-draining potting mix, like an orchid mix, to ensure the rhizome has good air circulation.
