Ctenanthe burle-marxii 'Amagris'

A low-growing plant, typically staying under 12 inches tall.

Spreads outwards to form a wide clump that can be 1–2 feet across.

Excellent as a full plant for a wide pot on a shelf or tabletop where it has room to spread.

Evergreen

Features beautiful, elongated oval leaves in a pale, silvery grey-green. A dramatic, curving 'fishbone' pattern of dark green stripes extends from the midrib to the leaf margin. The stems and undersides of the leaves are a contrasting deep purple.

Grown almost exclusively for its spectacular foliage, it may occasionally produce small, white, cone-like flowers.

Prefers bright, indirect light to keep its colors vibrant. Direct sun will cause the leaves to fade and burn.

Moderate. Appreciates high humidity and consistent moisture. For best results, water with distilled, filtered, or rainwater to prevent crispy leaf tips. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.

A shallow, fibrous root system that spreads via rhizomes. Requires a rich, well-aerated potting mix that stays lightly moist but not soggy.
