Evergreen

Foliage

Features elegant, narrow, lance-shaped leaves. The tops of the leaves are a glossy, deep grey-green, while the undersides are a shimmering silvery-green.

Flowering Period & Fruit

Produces panicles of small, fragrant, creamy-white flowers in late spring. These are followed by green drupes (olives) that ripen to a showy black from mid-summer to early fall. Ripe fruit can be messy and stain hardscapes.

Sun Tolerance

Requires full, direct sun (at least 6-8 hours per day) to thrive and produce fruit.

Maintenance

Low. Extremely drought-tolerant once established. In containers, water thoroughly when the soil has dried out completely. Prune in the spring to shape. Requires well-draining soil.
