Clusia 'Princess' (Autograph Plant)

Indoors, this compact variety can be maintained at a height of 3–5 feet.

Forms a dense, branching shrub approximately 2–3 feet wide indoors.

Best as a standalone floor plant in a container where its unique form and foliage can be appreciated.

Evergreen

Features thick, tough, leathery leaves that are paddle-shaped or obovate. The foliage is a deep, glossy green. The leaves are so durable that you can lightly carve a name or design onto their surface, which will scar over and remain visible.

Mature plants may produce beautiful, pinkish-white flowers, though this is less common indoors. Flowers are followed by a small, greenish, poisonous fruit.

Prefers bright, indirect light to some direct sun. A spot near a sunny window is ideal. It can tolerate lower light levels but will grow more slowly.

Easy. This is a very tough and forgiving plant. Water thoroughly when the top few inches of soil are dry. It is quite drought-tolerant and handles average household humidity well.

A strong, robust root system that may produce aerial roots in high humidity. Prefers a well-draining potting mix and dislikes being waterlogged.
