Calathea Lancifolia 'Rattlesnake'

Grows to an upright height of 2–3 feet.

Forms a dense, upright clump approximately 2 feet wide.

Excellent as a tabletop or floor plant that provides height and textural interest. Keep away from drafts.

Evergreen

Features long, slender, lance-shaped leaves with distinctly wavy edges. The bright green leaf surface is adorned with a pattern of alternating large and small dark green ovals, resembling a rattlesnake's skin. The undersides are a solid, deep burgundy-purple.

May produce small, yellow, cone-like flowers on short stalks, but it is grown for its stunning foliage.

Requires bright, indirect light to maintain its vibrant contrast. Keep out of direct sun, which will cause the leaves to fade and burn.

Moderate. While more forgiving than other Calatheas, it still thrives in high humidity and prefers watering with distilled, filtered, or rainwater. Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings.

A fibrous root system growing from rhizomes. Prefers a well-draining, peaty potting mix that stays lightly moist.
