Calathea 'Beauty Star'

Grows to an upright, bushy height of 2–3 feet.

Forms a full clump approximately 2 feet wide.

Best as a focal point plant on a stand or table, kept away from drafts and heating or cooling vents.

Evergreen

Features elongated, lance-shaped leaves with a deep green background, often flushed with a lighter green hue along the midrib. The leaves are adorned with a striking pattern of sharp, bright pink pinstripes that mature to white. The undersides are a solid, rich burgundy-purple.

Flowering is uncommon in home environments; it is grown for its spectacular, artistically patterned leaves.

Requires bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun will cause the beautiful colors to fade and will burn the delicate leaves.

Moderate to High. Demands a high-humidity environment. It is imperative to use distilled, filtered, or rainwater. Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy.

A sensitive, fibrous root system growing from rhizomes. A well-draining, airy potting mix that retains moisture is crucial for the health of this plant.
