Description :
Meet the enchanting Strawberry Begonia, a delightful plant that—despite its name—is not a true begonia at all! This charming ornamental is loved for its beautiful, rounded leaves that form lovely rosettes and its unique habit of sending out graceful runners with tiny plantlets, just like a strawberry plant. Easy to care for and endlessly fascinating to watch grow, it's perfect for hanging baskets or as a cascading feature on a shelf.

Collapsible content
Mature height
The main plant forms a low mound 6–8 inches tall; flower stalks can reach up to 2 feet.
Mature width
The central rosette can be 1–2 feet wide, spreading further via runners.
Spacing
Ideal for hanging baskets or containers where its runners can cascade. When used as a groundcover, space plants 12–18 inches apart.
Evergreen/Deciduous
Evergreen
Foliage
Forms a low-growing rosette of rounded, slightly fuzzy, dark green leaves. The leaves are beautifully overlaid with a prominent network of silvery veins, and their undersides are typically a rich reddish-purple.
Flowering Period & Fruit
In late spring or early summer, it sends up tall, slender stalks bearing a delicate spray of small, white, asymmetrical flowers. It also reproduces by sending out long, reddish runners (stolons) that form new plantlets at their tips.
Sun Tolerance
Prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade. Keep out of direct, hot sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Maintenance
Easy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, and provide good drainage. It is a relatively fast grower that is very easy to propagate from the plantlets.
Root System
A shallow, fibrous root system that prefers consistently moist but well-draining soil.
