While grown for their spectacular leaves, most Rex Begonias also produce clusters of small, delicate pink or white flowers.

All varieties thrive in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight will scorch their delicate leaves and fade the intense colors.

Moderate. Rex Begonias require high humidity to prevent crispy leaf edges. Water at the base of the plant when the top inch of soil is dry, but avoid overwatering. Provide good air circulation.

A fine, fibrous root system that grows from a surface rhizome. A light, airy, and well-draining potting mix is essential.
