Plant Details:

Mature height

The leaves alone can reach lengths of 3+ feet in ideal conditions.

Mature width

Can grow to be 3–4 feet wide to accommodate its large foliage.

Spacing

Requires significant space as a floor specimen to allow its giant leaves to hang freely without damage.

Produces enormous, pendant (downward-hanging) leaves that are elongated and heart-shaped at the base. The leaves feature a dramatic, corrugated or pleated texture down their entire length with a leathery feel and a satin-like sheen.

Flowering Period & Fruit

May produce a standard anthurium inflorescence (spathe and spadix), but it is grown exclusively for its colossal and breathtaking foliage.

Sun Tolerance

Requires bright, filtered, indirect light. Must be protected from direct sunlight, which will scorch its magnificent leaves.

Maintenance

Moderate to High. This plant thrives in high humidity (70%+). Water when the top 1-2 inches of the growing medium are dry, and provide excellent drainage. Not recommended for beginners.

Root System

An epiphytic root system that is highly sensitive to rot. It must be planted in an extremely airy, chunky potting mix that allows for abundant air circulation to the roots.
